Cokal Limited has appointed highly-experienced resource industry professional Reynold Immanuel to the new position of mine operation manager for its Indonesian coal operations. The appointment comes as Cokal continues production at its BBM Anak site in Central Kalimantan with a view to finalising its first sales contracts.
Cokal’s on-site technical team has prepared comprehensive mine-plans, mining schedules and financial budgets for the initial development of a small local market for metallurgical coal and upscaling to international markets by 2018.
As mine operation manager, Reynold Immanuel will implement the mine plan and ensure BBM Anak operates efficiently and with a high level of safety meeting international standards.
Reynold Immanuel has a strong background in managing mining operations in Kalimantan, including project manager Putra Borneo Mandiri Sejahtera coal mine in South Kalimantan, engineering manager Kalimantan Prima Energy Group coal mining project in East Kalimantan and mine operation manager Indomuro Kencana gold mine in Central Kalimantan. He offers more than 13 years’ experience in exploration and mine geology, mine planning and operation.
Cokal chairman Domenic Martino said the company’s technical team had extensive experience in coal exploration and mining in Indonesia and throughout the world and was highly confident in the technical and financial merits of BBM Anak.
“Cokal is building up a strong domestic and export metallurgical coal business and we are able to do this with minimal capital to kick start the business at a time when the global outlook for coal is indicating strong demand, particularly in the Asian region," Domenic Martino said.
“We are very pleased to announce the appointment of highly experienced mine operations manager Reynold Immanuel during this exciting time of growth for the company," he said.
