St Barbara Limited achieved strong production results in the December 2014 quarter, with the highest monthly and quarterly production from the Simberi Gold Project on Simberi Island since the company acquired this operation. There were 6816 ounces produced in December and 17,295 ounces in the quarter.

Simberi production in December started to show the benefit of having the SAG mill and ball mill running in parallel, resulting in the first month of positive net cash flow since acquisition. Current focus is on ensuring production continues to ramp up to achieve a continuing level of cash surplus from Simberi.

The company also achieved record quarterly production of 80,622 ounces at its Leonora project in Western Australia. This more than recovered the ounces deferred in the September quarter as a result of the mill shutdown. This project includes the Gwalia and King of the Hills operations.
