OEM Liebherr-Australia said it will open its newest branch in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia, next month to support the region’s rapidly expanding fleet of Liebherr mining equipment.
The facility, which will house space parts, tooling and customer support personnel at the location in Goldfields-Esperance, will be the third branch in the Australian state. It is located on a 10,000 square metre block with a 1,000-sq.-m. warehouse and a 180-sq.-m. office space.
“In recent years, Liebherr’s footprint of mining equipment has grown, now supporting more than 30 excavators and trucks, over 15 mine sites and nine customers, with more scheduled into 2022,” said Trent Wehr, Liebherr-Australia managing director.
“Returning to Kalgoorlie marks the success we’ve had in recent years in growing our equipment fleet in the region.”
Liebherr-Australia’s mining customer support network includes branches in Mackay, Queensland; Mt. Thorley, New South Wales; Perth, WA; Newman, WA; and its head office, national distribution centre and production facility in Adelaide, South Australia.
While the Kalgoorlie branch is scheduled to open in January 2022, Liebherr-Australia plans to hold an official opening ceremony with key customers and partners in the first quarter of 2022.
