Mayfield Group Holdings was selected last week for a A$10.3 million contract to supply transportable switchrooms at Lynas Rare Earth’s new project in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia next year.
The scope of the deal include delivery of one high-voltage switchroom, seven low-voltage switchrooms and 13 motor-control centres along with numerous ancillary panels.
“The equipment supplied incorporates Mayfield’s proprietary Moducell panel technology with a reputation for field safety and reliability,” Mayfield officials said.
The company’s Adelaide and Perth facilities will be involved in the design and manufacture of the switchrooms.
Delivery of the package is expected in March 2022.
It is Lynas’ second significant order for the project, which is currently in its early construction stages, in less than a month. Earlier in July, the operator retained Metso Outotec to provide the processing plant kiln at a cost of US$15 million.
