Longtime mining industry veteran and Djakarta Mining Club (DMC) co-founder and vice chairman David John Duffy has passed away.
Described as a warm and helpful person with a positive personality, Duffy, who passed last weekend, was most recently a senior strategic advisor to the Indonesian mining circle alongside his seat at the DMC advocacy group.
Between 2011 and 2013, he served as a business development manager for PT Bucyrus, which later became an arm of OEM Caterpillar, and also during his 30-plus-year career he spent two decades working on major resource developments for Rio Tinto.
A memorial has been set up in Duffy’s honor by the DMC.
