Canadian media and investment advisory group Corporate Knights has ranked Metso Outotec eighth on its 2021 Global 100 index of the world’s most sustainable companies.
The group said it evaluated 8,080 companies on environmental, social and governance (ESG) indicators relative to industry peers for its 17th index list. Metso Outotec was chosen, Corporate Knights said, because of its net positive impact on the planet within its industry.
“The company has set ambitious goals for sustainability and announced its commitment to limiting global warming to 1.5°C, with targets that are validated by the Science Based Targets initiative,” Corporate Knights said.
