MALAYSIA - Monument acquires 70% of Mengapur

Monument Mining has acquired an indirect 70% interest in the Mengapur polymetallic project in Malaysia’s Pahang State via its wholly-owned subsidiary Monument Mengapur Sdn Bhd (MMSB). MMSB acquired Cermat Aman Sdn Bhd which owns the Mengapur project, for a US$60 million payment and 300 MMSB shares.

MONGOLIA - Altan Rio first drilling at Khavchuu

The first drill program at Altan Rio Minerals’ Khavchuu gold project in the Tov province of northern Mongolia is under way. The 7sqkm project contains significant geophysical and gold-arsenic geochemical anomalies in a Boroo mine-type orogenic gold setting and has never been drilled.

MONGOLIA - Blue Eyes gold plant design completed

The Mongolian Resource Corporation (MRC) is about to commission stage one of its carbon in pulp (CIP) gold plant at the Blue Eyes project in central north Mongolia, after receiving the relevant government approvals for mine construction to start. The front end engineering and design work for a 400 tonne per day plant at the project is complete.
