Australian Bauxite (ABx) says the discovery of extraordinarily thick bauxite at Mt Rae near Taralga in southern New South Wales has resulted in an expansion of the pre-feasibility study (PFS) for the Goulburn bauxite project.
A massive expansion and facility upgrade at Sino Prosper State Gold Resources’ Aohan Qi mine in Inner Mongolia has put the company on schedule to ramp up to full production at the site by the end of the year. Construction of the new dry tailings facility and an upgrade of the processing facility are complete, meaning Sino Prosper can work up to a daily 500 tonne capacity operation in the next few months.
Partial results from Eldorado Gold’s 2012 exploration program have confirmed significant gold intercepts at its Chinese projects. The company has completed 62,000 metres of drilling across 20 projects in China, Greece, Romania, Brazil and Turkey.
Inter-Citic Minerals has updated the resource estimate at its Dachang Gold Project to a total 2.2 million ounces of contained gold. The company says measured and indicated categories have increased by 320,000 ounces and 250,000 ounces respectively from a 22.52 million tonne resource @ 3.04 grams/tonne gold. There is also an additional inferred mineral resource of 2.18 million ounces from 25.91 million tonnes @ 2.62 grams/tonne gold.
