Mining Vietnam 2016 - The 3rd International Mining and Minerals Recovery Exhibition and Conference - promises to gather hundreds of local and international technology, equipment and service suppliers to support the mining industry in South East Asia.
MANY experts have forecast that Vietnam’s economy will grow by 7% to 8% by 2020 creating significant pressure on energy demand and supply security. This process will be exacerbated by Vietnam’s population boom and rapid urbanisation.
The country had more than 90 million people in 2015 and although it has huge mineral and natural resources, dealing with these pressures has resulted in development of a Power Master Plan and a Mining Strategy for the period until 2030. These plans focus on the following purposes:
- Developing a sustainable national energy and mining industry;
- Diversifying and securing energy and resource supplies;
- Refining and downstream processing of minerals; and
- Addressing political and environmental pressures to drive economic returns to the nation.
To accomplish these aims, Vietnam is seeking to increase production of its deeper anthracite reserves with high quality grade as well as expanding its coal-fired power sector. This brings many opportunities for local and international technology, equipment and service suppliers in terms of:
- Coal supply including power generation, steel production and other industry applications;
- METS provisions across the supply chain to local and international mining players;
- Mining education and training, e.g. sustainable mining, mine safety, environmental management and mineral processing; and
- Import/export infrastructure capabilities (deep water coal seaports, intermediary coal terminals and land transportation).
Bridge for international suppliers
As a part of the mining event series organised by Allworld Exhibition Alliances, which includes Mining Indonesia, Mining Mongolia and Mining Myanmar, Mining Vietnam is considered one of the most trusted events for the mining industry in Vietnam and Indochina. This biennial event will be back from March 29 to 31, 2016, at the International Centre for Exhibition (ICE), Cultural Palace Complex, Hanoi, Vietnam.
Mining Vietnam has been supported by Ministry of Industry and Trade, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group (VINACOMIN) and industry players from its launch in 2012 until now as the event has become the most effective business bridge for international suppliers with latest technologies and equipment to reach and engage with the local and regional industry.
In the previous edition in 2014, Mining Vietnam successfully gathered 169 exhibitors from 30 countries and regions throughout the world. There were international pavilions from Australia, China, Czech Republic, Germany, Poland and the UK.
The total number of trade attendees reached 3581 from Vietnam and other countries with 91% of visitors stating in a survey that they were satisfied with the exhibition and 98% confirmed that they would be back at Mining Vietnam in 2016.
Singapore Exhibition Services’ Vietnam Representative Office deputy chief Mr BT Tee said: “From its launch in 2012, this event has effectively served the Vietnamese mining industry. Mining Vietnam 2016 is co-located with Building & Construction Vietnam 2016 as both events share a common earthmoving need. The co-location serves to increase the visibility of exhibitors to both industries to increase exhibition participation success and to improve the market reach of the event in general.
