Organisers of the fourth annual Sumatra Miner 2017 conference are seeking presenters who can contribute to the development and growth of the mining industry in Sumatra. They welcome presentation proposals for the event which will be held in Palembang, South Sumatra, on March 22 and 23.
The conference, which is being organised by Mining Media International (MMI), publishers of The ASIA Miner and E&MJ Coal Age Indonesia, is an opportunity to present new technologies and showcase their successful use in exploration, development and operational situations throughout the Asia Pacific.
With the emergence of a strong mining industry in the Asia Pacific, including in Indonesia, the conference aims to provide a scientific but practical platform to outline and discuss the use of new technologies and their application for target projects.
Sumatra is a resource-rich region and MMI hopes that the conference will assist the region to exploit these resources in a sustainable way that can benefit all inhabitants. As such, speakers are sought who can assist this process, whether it be in the fields of exploration, development or operation, also including provision of infrastructure.
Expressions of interest are needed by November 30 with abstract submissions due by December 16.
Relevant topics include, but are not limited to: exploration solutions, regulations, project investment and financing, mine design and planning, drilling and blasting, coal preparation and technology, mine mouth power plants, stockpile management, mineral processing, haulage and loading, occupational health and safety, community engagement, waste management, mine closure and reclamation/rehabilitation. There will also be opportunities to showcase projects.
Sumatra Miner 2017 will bring together more than 200 mining players, solution providers, government officials, community representatives and consultancies. The event is supported by ASPINDO, Sumatera Selatan and Energi Dan Sumber Daya Mineral.
The organisers are also seeking sponsors for the event with a number of different packages available. MMI says sponsorship will enable companies to: Promote and enhance brand image; maximise participation at the exhibition and conference; achieve multiple business objectives; develop new business leads; reach potential customers; stand out from competitors; benefit from highly targeted marketing; and gain from integrated PR and media exposure.
