The China Mining Congress & Expo has been held annually for 17 years since 1999 and this year will be held from September 22-27 in Tianjin, China. China Mining will again include three main components - conferences, exhibitions and featured events.
In 2009, China’s Ministry of Land and Resources jointly with Tianjin Municipal Government sponsored the event for the first time, and this cooperation has been maintained for six years. This year the 18th edition of China’s premier mining conference will be held earlier than usual, moving from late October/November to September.
China Mining covers the entire mining industry chain including geological survey, exploration and development, mineral rights trade, mining investment and financing, smelting and processing, technology and equipment, mining services and other aspects.
It not only provides the platform for mineral exploration, development and trading, but also the communication bridge for domestic and international mining companies and related agencies.
The number of delegates attending the event has increased from 1000 in 2004 to 8500 in 2015 while booth numbers have increased from 100 to 2000. More than 9000 delegates from more than 609 countries are expected to attend this year while the exhibition will occupy more than 38,000 square metres in five areas.
The conference components attract the world's policy makers and leading industry voices to present the hottest topics and provide insightful information. Topics include mining industry trends, global mineral commodity markets, domestic and international investment opportunities, sustainable mining development, geological surveys, mining technologies and equipment, etc.
The industry exhibition will attract pavilions from major world mining countries and regions as well as exhibitors from mining companies, investment and financing institutions, evaluation consultants, technical service providers, equipment suppliers and other exhibitors.
Featured events will include the opening ceremony, China Mining Awards Ceremony, Government Welcome Reception, bilateral meetings between mining ministers, projects matchmaking, buffet and cocktail party, as well as the Mining Opening Day. These events will provide additional opportunities for mining professionals to communicate with each other.
China Mining Congress & Expo is dedicated to following a path towards sustainable development of China’s mining industry and to being a part of global mining development trends in order to build a major annual event of mining dialogue, exchange and cooperation with integration of convention, exhibition and theme activity for the whole mining sector.
