Geobank Mobile 2.1MICROMINE has released Geobank Mobile 2.1, the latest version of the company’s field logging solution which it says enables users to accurately capture data whilst in the field, using real-time validation and rich data input controls that minimize errors at point of entry.

MICROMINE says this latest version further maximizes efficiency with easily customizable calculated fields, in-built data approval and transfer mechanisms.

Geobank product strategy manager Daria Lvova says, “Geobank Mobile 2.1 release stays true to MICROMINE’S commitment to listening to our clients and developing solutions that are fit for purpose, easy to use, logical and flexible.

“As a privately owned business, a significant percentage of revenue is invested into research and development rather than shareholder dividends. This means our clients benefit from the latest technology with frequent releases and updates.

“Geobank Mobile 2.1 is no exception. We have worked closely with current users of Geobank Mobile and other stakeholders to ensure new and enhanced features are developed according to their needs.”

One such example is continuous collaboration with AngloGold Ashanti, a long-time user of MICROMINE products, including Geobank Mobile. This collaboration resulted in adding new functionality to capture weight data directly from scales connected to a tablet or computer (Support for Scales devices) option. MICROMINE says this integration ensures seamless data collection which is extremely useful for field sample, core shed weight and density analysis; laboratory and general purpose weighing.

Another important add-on is the enablement of a built-in camera on laptop, tablet, or hand-held device to interactively capture photos directly from Geobank Mobile and store them as a part of the database.

MICROMINE also continues to improve data exchange between Geobank Mobile and other MICROMINE applications. For instance, Field Marshal users can now import logging tables and data directly to Geobank Mobile.

Adding to the MICROMINE’s tradition of producing user-friendly solutions that improve productivity, the Geobank Mobile Online Help is now also published to the web. Web-based help enables more frequent help updates and an improved browsing and search experience.

AngloGold Ashanti system specialist, Database & GIS, Howard Addison says, “It’s a good product with a solid foundation that I believe has set it up well for the future. The architecture has struck a good balance between intuitive/ease of use for the user. There is point of capture validation with flexible data models, ie being able to handle a wide variety of data, not just drilling data.”
