FLSmidth confirmed on 22 December that it has signed a deal to sell its non-core fabric filter technology, part of its advanced filter technology (AFT) business, to Denmark-headquartered industrial filter group Simatek A/S.

Financial details were not and will not be released, but FLSmidth said the agreement will have benefits for both parties, as it will be retaining its core AFT operations – crucial to its MissionZero strategy.

Additionally, Simatek will be able to broaden its product portfolio and boost its technological footprint.

The terms of the deal outline that Simatek will supply FLSmidth with fabric filters, while FLSmidth will be a supplier of filter bags and filter cages to its partner.

“We believe Simatek is an ideal partner to receive our technology,” said Flemming Jensen, head of air pollution control at FLSmidth.

“By combining our bags and cages offering with Simatek’s extended industrial filters portfolio, we have created a strong collaboration that will greatly benefit our MissionZero strategy and our customers’ overall green agenda.”
