Persistent heavy rain has hampered the plans of Metals Exploration to get its Runruno Gold Project in the Philippines up to full speed. Runruno is about 340km north of Manila in the mineral-rich province of Nueva Viscaya.

Assays further enhance Woodlark potential

New assay results from drilling at Geopacific Resources’ Woodlark Gold Project in Papua New Guinea have returned a best result of 21 metres at 3.27 g/t gold. The company is undertaking a drilling program with the aim of increasing the reserve from 766,000 ounces to 1.2 million.

Tribunal rules on Reko Diq lease denial

An arbitration tribunal of the World Bank’s International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) has decided in favour of the arbitration claims that Tethyan Copper Company (TCC) filed against Pakistan in relation to the unlawful denial of a mining lease for the Reko Diq Copper-Gold Project in 2011. TCC is a joint venture between Antofagasta and Barrick Gold Corporation.

BlackGold placement to raise S$3.6 million

BlackGold Natural Resources has signed a share placement agreement with Johanes Budisutrisno Kotjo who intends to purchase almost 40 million shares for gross proceeds of up to S$3.56 million. The Indonesia-focused coal company intends to use the entire net proceeds for general working capital.
