SUPPLIERS - Slight rise in 2013 turnover

After a tremendous run where mining equipment manufacturers tripled turnover within 10 years to Euro 6.2 billion, 2013 was estimated to end on a 1% increase to about Euro 6.3 billion, according to the German Engineering Federation’s VDMA Mining Equipment Association. For 2014 companies are anticipating losses in the lower double-digit percentage range due to falling raw material prices and general market insecurity.

CAMBODIA - Mining application submitted for Phum Syarung

Angkor Gold Corp announces that Mesco Gold has submitted the mining application for the Phum Syarung Gold Project to Cambodia’s Ministry of Mining and Energy (MME). The application is the next step for Mesco to receive the mining licence so that production can begin at Phum Syarung. It is expected to take about 6 months for MME to reach its decision.  1
