KYRGYZ REPUBLIC - Centerra enters Kumtor agreement

Centerra Gold has entered into a non-binding Heads of Agreement with the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and Kyrgyzaltyn JSC in connection with a potential restructuring transaction under which Kyrgyzaltyn would exchange its 32.7% equity interest in Centerra for a 50% interest in a joint venture company that would own the Kumtor Gold Project.  1

PHILIPPINES - Tampakan project ‘remains priority’

Despite ongoing delays, the US $5.9 billion Tampakan Copper-Gold Project in Southern Mindanao remains a priority mining project of the Aquino Government in the Philippines. “That is why we [at the Mining Industry Coordinating Council] (MICC) created the inter-agency working group to solve the problem,” Philippines' environment secretary Ramon Paje said during a recent press conference.  1

PHILIPPINES - New Co-O powercells operating

Medusa Mining, through its Philippine operating company Philsaga Mining Corporation, says repaired Powercells have been installed at the SAG mill, tested and are operating without any issues. The new mill is part of an expansion project at the Co-O Gold Project in northeast Mindanao.  1

MONGOLIA – Outstanding seismic results at Ulaan Tolgoi

The recently completed mini-sosie seismic survey conducted over sections of Newera Resources’ Ulaan Tolgoi joint venture area has produced outstanding results. The survey identified multiple, flat lying, gently folded seismic reflectors within a 150-200 metre thick interpreted P2 Late Permian strata that is considered to have high coal-bearing potential.  1
