Temporary power and temperature control services provider Aggreko is continuing its expansion into mainland China with a new service centre in Foshan opening. The new centre is in the southern Chinese city’s Gangbei Industrial Zone and will replace Aggreko’s existing operation in Guangzhou which was established in 2010.
Since then, the company has experienced significant growth in the district and says the new larger premises will enable it to accommodate its expanding business.
“Aggreko has chosen Foshan to be the hub of our business for southern China due to its strong and diverse industrial base and its convenient access to the other major industrial centres of the Pearl River Delta,” says Aggreko China’s general manager Kelvin Lam. “As we rapidly outgrew our facilities at Guangzhou it was vital that we secured a strategic location that offered us the room to keep growing our business to continue serving our expanding customer base.”
The new service centre covers 5300 square metres and will incorporate the latest Aggreko workshop layouts and warehousing processes, as well as office space.
Aggreko employs more than 4500 people operating from 165 locations. In 2011 the company served customers across 100 countries, providing power and temperature control solutions very quickly, or for short or indeterminate lengths of time. Recent customers include the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games and power utilities in more than 50 countries including the UK, France, Angola, Kenya, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Venezuela, Chile, Brazil and the USA.
