Assay results from a third diamond drill hole at Robust Resources’ Purple Heart prospect on Romang Island have confirmed a significant intersection of gold and silver mineralization. The intersection measures 64 metres from surface and defines a continuous zone of mineralization between two previous holes.  1

Robust says the intersection is 64 metres @ 1.05 grams/tonne gold equivalent including 29 metres @ 1.43 grams/tonne from surface which in turn includes 17 metres @ 1.54 grams/tonne. The mineralization at Purple Heart remains open in all lateral directions and is shown to be thickening westwards.

The company’s managing director Gary Lewis says, “The success rate of our drilling campaign at Purple Heart is very encouraging. This gold-rich system is particularly strong and our geological team believes that this is a very large and previously undiscovered mineralized system.”

Results from the first two holes at the prospect were announced earlier in April, with both holes intersecting significant gold and silver mineralization from surface, giving Robust confidence in the Purple Heart target. Highlights from these holes include 28 metres @ 1.25 grams/tonne gold equivalent including 14 metres @ 1.94 grams/tonne and 60 metres @ 0.83 grams/tonne including 14.1 metres @ 1.65 grams/tonne from surface.

Drilling of this system is ongoing, utilizing two of the company’s owner-operated diamond drill rigs. Seven rigs are active or scheduled on Romang Island targets including manganese and high-grade gold.

“Every hole we have drilled thus far has come back with positive assay results. Preliminary assessment of the results and styles of mineralization encountered indicates that Purple Heart- Batu Perak could be the largest mineralized system within the Lakuwahi Caldera,” says Gary Lewis. “Of particular note is not just the potential size of the mineralized system but the fact that the test work undertaken demonstrates that the gold-rich ore at Lakuwahi is favourable for heap leaching, which is considered the most likely processing route for the Lakuwahi Oxide Project.”

Robust is in a strong position with more than $23 million in cash which is funding its aggressive exploration and development activities at the Romang Island projects. This site incorporates an interim indicated and inferred JORC mineral resource estimate of 592,000 ounces of gold, 27.7 million ounces of silver, 95 million pounds of copper, 697 million pounds of lead and 678 million pounds of zinc.
