RAG Mining Solutions GmbH has established a Chinese subsidiary in Beijing, signalling a significant move into the Asian market. More than 100 guests from business and political sectors attended the launch of the German-based coal industry consultancy at the new base.
“This step reflects our intention to become an active technology service provider and sustainable partner for Chinese mining on location in China,” says RAG Mining’s chief executive officer Martin Junker.
RAG Mining is engaged by global companies for its German coal industry expertise across a wide range of consulting and engineering projects, as well as training in special fields of work including technical planning, logistics, expansion technology/equipment, weather and climate technology, extraction, automation, occupational health and safety and environmental protection and testing.
RAG boasts a holistic approach to optimizing processes in the underground extraction of raw materials. The company also markets used and proven mining equipment, and industrial installations.
A major contract which the company began last month was the disassembly work at Germany’s disused Saar mine, with RAG Mining securing a buyer for the entire processing machinery line in a Croatian company. The work is expected to take the next 10 months for disassembly, dismantling and removal of the mine infrastructure.
