A subsidiary of China Shen Zhou Mining & Resources has become one of the first domestic fluorite companies to meet government standards for its production lines. Xinyi Fluorite is based in Jingde County, Anhui province, and has one of 10 production lines meeting the Ministry of Industry and Informational Technology (MIIT) standards.
China Shen Zhou chairwoman Xiaojing Yu says, “Fluorite’s importance as a key industrial raw material has been recognized by the highest government authorities in China including the State Council. MITT began its public inspection of fluorite companies early this year. We welcome the government’s initiatives in consolidating the industry and we are confident that our subsidiaries will pass future inspections. With increasingly higher barrier of entry, we are well positioned to lead the fluorite industry and capitalize on future growth opportunities.”
She says the company will fully cooperate with relevant government agencies for future inspections.
In other news, consultants SRK have completed the sampling verification for Xinyi after carrying out additional drilling and collecting more technical datasets on the fluorite reserves. The samples were then inspected by the Hefei Mineral Resources Supervision and Inspection Centre, with the results confirming the length and width of Xinyi’s fluorite ore deposits are larger and of better grade than previously thought. SRK is now working to complete a JORC-compliant technical report on the reserves at Xinyi by the end of the year.
