MONGOLIA - Peabody offered initial West Tsankhi contract

Leading US-based coal company Peabody Energy has been offered a contract by Erdenes Tavan Tolgoi JSC to develop the West Tsankhi coalfield at Tavan Tolgoi. The state-owned project site is under dispute as to who should develop it, with the Mongolian government deciding a single contractor will be allowed to operate until a resolution is reached.  1

Centurion Minerals has signed an agreement which will see the company join forces with a local Burmese group to develop a number of gold projects in Myanmar. NEW ZEALAND - Kent to resume Lyell and Alexander River exploration

Kent Exploration will re-commence exploration activities at the Lyell and Alexander River projects on New Zealand’s South Island after an agreement to consolidate the company’s shares was made in a bid to boost working capital for the company. More than 21 million shares, or almost one-quarter of the company, will be consolidated into one new share for every 10 old ones.  1
