TSX-listed Berkwood Resources through its subsidiary, PT Berkwood Resources Indonesia, has deployed its Indonesian field team to start initial exploration at its Cimandiri Gold Property in West Java.
The initial field exploration program will be broken into two phases. The first will consist of geological mapping including structural, lithology and alteration mapping. The second phase will include trenching, test pits and sampling, of which locations will be determined based on information gathered during initial field reconnaissance, regional geology maps, surface prospecting and all geological map work completed during the first phase.
All samples collected will be submitted to Intertek's Jakarta lab for geochemical analysis. The exploration program is expected to last about five weeks.
Cimandiri is about 120km south of Jakarta and sits at an elevation ranging from 700-900 metres above sea level. Railway lines are nearby, with the closest rail station only 8km from the property. The project is about 9km southwest of the open pit Cikondang gold mine.
Berkwood Resources' president Brian Buchanan says, “We are excited to see our exploration team begin this initial phase of exploration on our first property acquisition in Indonesia.”
Berkwood is dedicated to the acquisition, exploration and development of gold, silver and other mineral deposits in North America and South East Asia. As well as Cimandiri, it has two North American properties - Prospect Valley, a large epithermal gold property in British Columbia and the grass roots Fox Creek lithium property in Alberta.
