Sihayo Gold has intersected bonanza grade gold in the first six holes of a new drilling program at Tambang Tinggi gold/copper prospect in the southern area of the company's Contract of Work (COW) in North Sumatra.
The fifth hole in the new program has intersected 10 metres @ 39.2 grams/tonne gold from 18 metres, including 2 metres @ 193 grams/tonne from 20 metres. Another hole delivered a significant intersection of 30 metres @ 3.90 grams/tonne from 104 metres, including 12 metres @ 8.60 grams/tonne from 122 metres.
Other significant intercepts include 12 metres @ 1.86 grams/tonne from 36 metres, 2 metres @ 5.78 grams/tonne from 68 metres, 14 metres @ 1.21 grams/tonne from 106 metres, 8 metres @ 1.22 grams/tonne from 2 metres, 4 metres @ 9.25 grams/tonne from 182 metres, 16 metres @ 1.63 grams/tonne from surface, 2 metres @ 3.91 grams/tonne from 56 metres, 12 metres @ 1.67 grams/tonne from 54 metres and 6 metres @ 3.94 grams/tonne from 208 metres.
Sihayo's chief executive officer Paul Willis says, “These are outstanding results for an exploration program in its infancy. We will be focusing on potentially delineating a new JORC compliant resource over the Tambang Tinggi prospect to add to our existing JORC compliant resource of 15.7 million tonne @ 2.8 grams/tonne gold for 1.402 million ounces at our flagship Sihayo Pungkut Gold Project.”
The current Tambang Tinggi drilling plan is to complete four further diamond drill holes and then begin scout drilling to the north at Tambang Bawah prospect. Following the initial program at Tambang Bawah, scout drilling will begin at the Tambang Ailul prospect.
