Drilling by Asia Now Resources has expanded the main mineralized zone at the Beiya North project to 1860 metres in length. Assays from 20 drill holes have returned high grade polymetallic results.
All new drill holes intersected the mineralized zones at Beiya North and expanded the main gold/silver and base metal zone to 1680 metres by 350 to 700 metres. It remains open to the north, west and east.
In addition, two ongoing drill holes indicate a potential new mineralized zone east of the known Beiya North zone that is adjacent to the open-pit Beiya Gold Mine which produces 200,000 ounces of gold annually.
Asia Now’s chief technical advisor Dr Noel White says, “These new results continue to meet or exceed our targets. We are particularly pleased by the consistent demonstration of high grade values and by the further intersections of new mineralized zones. These results will make a positive contribution to our upcoming resource estimate.”
At Beiya North, 85 drill holes totalling 35,853 metres have been completed, and 69 holes intersected the mineralized zones.
Best results are 13.09 metres from 219.41 metres @ 0.56 grams/tonne gold, 71.45 grams/tonne silver, 7.04% lead, 0.39% inc, 0.1% copper and 33.6% iron; 18.73 metres from 222.17 metres @ 1.54 grams/tonne gold, 51.46 grams/tonne silver, 2.63% lead, 0.54% zinc, 0.09% copper and 23.82% iron; 4.96 metres from 277.73 metres @ 1.33 grams/tonne gold, 98.17 grams/tonne silver, 3.27% lead, 1.47% zinc, 0.06% copper and 20.46% iron; 12.16 metres from 141.94 metres @ 0.25 grams/tonne gold, 63.14 grams/tonne silver, 3.16% lead, 0.52% zinc and 6.43% iron; and 9 metres from 230.98 metres @ 0.27 grams/tonne gold, 13.5 grams/tonne silver, 3.1% lad, 1.37% zinc, 0.03% copper and 16.81% iron.
The company has started metallurgical testing, environmental assessment, hydrological survey and geo-engineering measurements in preparation for potential mine development. The project consultants, Roscoe Postle and Associates, have already visited the project and are working on an inaugural NI43-101 report and resource estimate, which is scheduled to be completed as soon as the fourth quarter of 2011.
Asia Now has earned 72% with the option of increasing to 90% its interest in the Beiya North property.
