The growing importance of Indonesia’s mining industry is evidenced by the fact that global machinery giant Caterpillar will be exhibiting at this year’s Mining Indonesia for the first time since 2003.
Caterpillar and its Indonesian distributor PT Trakindo Utama have taken a large stand in the outside demonstration area at the 15th International Mining Indonesia which will be held at Jakarta International Expo from September 21 to 24. This event is South East Asia’s major mining and minerals recovery exhibition and conference.
Trakindo’s chief operating officer Ivan Tulong says, “We have visited every show since 2003 and have noticed its continued growth and quality and now see it as the best way for Caterpillar to reinforce our position as the number one heavy equipment company in Indonesia.
“The mining expo is definitely an important event. This should be an ideal moment for exhibitors and customers to interact, exchange information about their products and their needs in the mining industry. We see this as a very good opportunity for Trakindo and Caterpillar to introduce our world-class products and services.”
Mining Indonesia 2011 is part of the Energy & Mining Indonesia Series co-located with Electric, Power & Renewable Energy Indonesia; Oil & Gas Indonesia; and Building & Infrastructure Indonesia.
The 2009 event attracted 54,552 energy and infrastructure professionals from throughout Indonesia and the South East Asia region.
Again supported by the Department of Energy and Mines, the Indonesian Mining Association and the Indonesian Coal Mining Association (IMA), Mining Indonesia 2011 will again host many leading mining companies in the IMA sponsored Mining Village ensuring that the major equipment buyers will be onsite for the duration of the exhibition.
Mining Indonesia is organised by PT Pamerindo Indonesia, a member of Allworld Exhibitions whose members also organize Mining Vietnam 2012 in Hanoi.
