COMPANY & PRODUCT NEWS - Innovative software a mainstay for mines

Asset management specialists Maintenance & Project Engineering (MPE) have released an innovative computer software program called ‘mainstay Maintenance Solutions’ which is designed to assist companies overcome limitations in maintenance management.

The Australian company, which has offices in Singleton, New South Wales and Oxenford, Queensland, has been in operation for more than 10 years and employs a team of 30 comprising engineers and specialists in the mechanical and electrical fields.

MPE’s general manager Mick Meissner says the suite of software was developed to overcome communication issues at a Queensland mine and it was at this mine that MPE chose to recently launch ‘mainstay Maintenance Solutions’.

“MPE placed an engineer at the mine to undertake a maintenance improvement project and during this period he identified the need for improvements in the maintenance management process.

“Over time the software was developed in-house by our engineers to provide users with four distinct (though integrated) modules for enhancing their own maintenance management processes.

“We believe successful maintenance outcomes are underpinned by sound process, accurate information and efficient resource utilization, and we recognize that these outcomes are often difficult to achieve in an organization where complex shift structures are engaged.

“The ‘mainstay Maintenance Solutions’ software has been designed for the shift supervisor to complement existing computerized maintenance management software (CMMS) such as Ellipse, SAP and Pulse,” Mick Meissner says.
