Grange Resources has appointed Wayne Bould as chief operating officer. He has a substantial track record in the resources sector and will be instrumental in implementing a range of efficiency and operational improvements.

In his role Wayne Bould will be responsible for management of Grange operations at Savage River and Port Latta in Tasmania , Bukit Ibam in Malaysia and the Southdown project in Western Australia .

Grange's managing director Russell Clark said it was a pleasure to appoint Wayne to the role of COO.

“Grange now has a wide ranging set of operations from an operational mine at Savage River , a pellet plant at Port Latta and the Southdown development project. In pursuing our development goals across these operations, we will greatly benefit from Wayne 's skills and experience.”

Wayne Bould joined the Grange Resources’ executive team in May 2008. He was previously director, business excellence for Newmont Mining’s global business operations, a role that saw him working with members of the global, regional and site management teams to facilitate the development and execution of Newmont's business excellence strategies.

He began his career with Newmont as a senior regional manager within Asia Pacific operations, assisting in establishing disciplined and standardized management processes in the operational and functional areas. Before joining Newmont, he had considerable experience as a senior manager in management consulting, in the downstream oil industry with Shell Australia, and in the manufacture and distribution of timber products.
