There are many important questions facing the mining industry during the global economic downturn and many of them do not have definitive answers. The China Mining Congress and Expo in Tianjin from October 20-22, 2009 , will provide the ideal platform to discuss many of the questions and perhaps even come up with some solutions.
The questions include: how are the mining industry and commodities affected by the financial crisis?; when will the financial crisis beat the bottom line - in the third quarter of 2009, next year or even within the next two years?; what is the role of China in the mining industry within the global downturn?; and how and where to find the business opportunities in the current situation? China Mining Congress and Expo 2009 will be one of the world’s largest mining events this year and is hosted by China ’s Ministry of Land and Resources. As a mineral exploration and mining trading platform, China Mining Congress and Expo will play an important role in creating more communication and co-operation opportunities for domestic and international mining corporations. The growing importance of China Mining Congress and Expo is reflected by increasing numbers of delegates and exhibitors. Last year for the event’s 10th anniversary there were more than 3500 delegates and 400 exhibitors from nearly 50 countries. There are three main streams of China Mining Congress and Expo – conference, exhibition and feature events. The trade show attracts foreign and domestic governments, associations and companies including mining and exploration companies, mining technique and equipment suppliers, geologists as well as banks and legal consulting firms. The congress and expo not only provides a vehicle for gathering information, capital and technology but also provides a convenient channel for increasing economic and trading co-operation and communication between China and the world. China Mining Congress and Expo 2009 will be held at Tianjin Binhai International Convention and Exhibition Centre from October 20-22. For more information, please visit www.china-mining.com
