Grove cranes lift Heidaigou production

MANITOWOC’S Grove brand cranes have been partnering China’s largest open-pit coal mine, Heidaigou, since it opened in 1991. Over the course of that partnership the company has supplied a range of cranes to help the mine operate to optimal production. The first cranes Grove supplied are still at work at the facility, while the latest two arrived last year - a 60-tonne RT765E-2 and a range-topping 135-tonne RT9150E, both from the rough-terrain crane line.

Duratray exports to New Caledonia

DURATRAY celebrated the export of a new fleet of its innovative Suspended Dump Bodies to a mining operation in New Caledonia by way of a special ceremony recently at the Port of Melbourne. Victoria’s Minister for Ports, Major Projects and Manufacturing David Hodgett congratulated Duratray during the event on March 20.

ABB mine hoist systems to India

ABB, a leading power and automation technology group, has won an order for three complete mine hoist systems including related shaft equipment, to help Hindustan Zinc move its production at the Rampura Agucha mine in India from an open-pit to an underground operation. The new hoist systems will enable Hindustan Zinc to reach and exceed their production targets.

Tenova Mining & Minerals awarded DFS

TENOVA Mining & Minerals South Africa, the South African market focused black empowered operating arm of the global Tenova Mining & Minerals Group, has been nominated to carry out a definitive feasibility study (DFS) for London Stock Exchange-listed Baobab Resources. The DFS will be done on Baobab’s pig iron and ferro-vanadium project in Mozambique’s Tete region.
