Angkor Gold Corp has appointed Dennis Ouellette as vice president - exploration. He joined Angkor at the beginning of 2017 as senior geologist and became the company’s manager of exploration in April 2017.

Sparton Resources announces that Pu Neng Energy has appointed John Wang as its new chief executive officer. Mr Wang is an experienced technology industry executive and entrepreneur with a wide range of international management experience. Sparton’s 87.46% owned subsidiary, VanSpar Mining Inc holds an 18% interest in Pu Neng.

Guido Hesse has taken charge of Customer Support at the BEUMER Group headquarters in Beckum, Germany. As the new director, he controls and coordinates the global centre of competence and defines, together with his team, the technical and organisational principles of services and support for BEUMER products.

He has spent four years working in Mongolia for Oyu Tolgoi LLC, with roles including chief operating officer, acting CEO and general manager - operations.

CIMIC Group has announced the promotion of Michael Wright to chief executive officer and managing director and the appointment of Ignacio Segura as deputy chief executive officer and chief operating officer. Previous CEO Adolfo Valderas has accepted a role with ACS Group but remains as a CIMIC Group director.

He will be responsible for driving Sulzer’s strategy, growth and profitability for electromechanical services worldwide and creating synergies with the company’s turbo services and pump services businesses.

SouthGobi Resources has appointed Yingbin Ian He as an independent non-executive director. Mr He has over 30 years of mining industry experience. He is an independent non-executive director of China Gold International Resources; a director of Zhongrun Resources Investment Corporation; a director and president of Tri-River Ventures and a director of Vatukoula Gold Mines Plc. The company has also appointed Wen Yao as a non-executive director. He is a managing director of CIC Capital Corporation and is responsible for global investment in the metals and mining industry and management of its existing portfolio assets in the same sector.

Australian Mines has appointed nickel veteran Tim Maclean to the newly created role of chief operating officer, in a move aimed at advancing its Sconi cobalt-nickel-scandium project in Queensland. He is also expected to play a vital role in preparation of a pre-feasibility study for the Flemington cobalt-scandium-nickel project in New South Wales.

MICROMINE has appointed two new senior managers to its Indonesia office. Sahrul Hidayat will join MICROMINE Indonesia as regional manager and Pak Tino Ardhyanto will commence as director of MICROMINE Indonesia.

Asiamet Resources has appointed James Deo as chief financial officer. He is a senior mining and resources industry executive whose experience covers roles in finance, commercial, strategy, investor relations, sales and marketing, business development and business improvement. Most recently he has consulted to Newcrest Mining, immediately prior to which he worked with OZ Minerals for 10 years in senior leadership positions.

Macmahon Holdings’ chief financial officer Jose Martins has resigned from the mining contractor. The company said Jose Martins would leave early in 2018 to take up a senior role with a private resources company.

James Calaway has been appointed Global Geoscience executive chairman. He has considerable experience and success in building junior companies into successful commercial enterprises. He has played major roles in the development of public and private companies engaged in lithium operations, oil and gas exploration and production, enterprise software and solar farm development.

Realm Resources has announced several Board and management changes. Glen Lewis has been appointed as managing director and has a member of the Board. Richard Rossiter and Theo Renard have resigned as directors. Richard Rossiter continues with the company in the position of executive general manager - business development and Theo Renard remains as chief financial officer and company secretary. Peter Briggs has stepped down from his role as CEO of Middlemount South.
