  • EVENTS - Forum for Exploration to host seminar

    Indonesia’s Forum for Mining Exploration and Development Association (EMDI) will host a breakfast seminar with heads of provincial mining departments later this month dealing with the topic of ‘overcoming barriers to exploration and regional investment’. The seminar will be on Tuesday, February 19, from 8am in The Asean Room at the Hotel Sultan in Jakarta.

  • EXPLORATION - Australian Incentive Scheme Launched

    The launch of the Exploration Development Incentive (EDI) by Federal Minister for Industry Ian Macfarlane at the AMEC Convention in Perth will be a much needed boost to greenfield mineral exploration in Australia, according to Association of Mining and Exploration Companies (AMEC) CEO Simon Bennison. The EDI was launched last week at the AMEC Convention in Perth.

  • INDIA - Exploration target upgraded at AP14 project

    NSL Consolidated has doubled the exploration target at its AP14 magnetite project in Andhra Pradesh state to up to 377 million tonnes of magnetite. The previous target range was between 62 and 125 million tonnes of magnetite at grades ranging from 20% to 50% iron.

  • INDONESIA - East Asia resumes Miwah exploration

    Extensions to the licences at East Asia’s Miwah project in Aceh province on Sumatra have been granted, prompting the company to restart exploration at the site. The licences are now valid until November 30, 2014 and East Asia has planned a major drill program during the next 12 months covering 12,000 metres.
