• China Gold expects increased production

    China Gold International Resources expects to increase total gold production from its Chinese operations to about 235,000 ounces while copper production is expected to be steady at about 38.6 million pounds. Most of the increase in gold production will be from the Chang Shan Hao (CSH) Gold Mine in Inner Mongolia.

  • Eastern Dragon preparations continue

    ELDORADO Gold is continuing the final stages of development work on its fourth operating project in China, Eastern Dragon. The company aims to begin production at the Heilongjiang province gold and silver project in the first half of 2016.

  • Northern Mining acquires gold interests

    EMERGING Australian resources exploration and development company Northern Mining has acquired a 49% stake in Northland Resources Limited which has gold mining interests in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of western China and interests in Inner Mongolia, northern China, for a total of Aus$7.25 million.

  • China establishes gold mining fund

    China has established a fund that is expected to raise about US$16 billion for gold-related investment as part of its Silk Road initiative to develop trade and transport infrastructure across Asia and beyond.

  • Silvercorp improves Ying production

    IMPROVED dilution control led to increased June quarter production at Silvercorp Metals’ Ying Mining District operations in Henan Province. These measures resulted in a 10% increase in silver head grade to 250 grams/tonne and an 8% increase in lead head grade to 3.6%.

  • Blackgold to sell four coal mines

    BLACKGOLD International Holdings has entered into a conditional sale agreement with Singapore-listed Matex International Ltd for the sale of its Hong Kong unit with four operating underground thermal coal mines in the Chinese province of Chongqing. Matex plans to buy Blackgold Holdings Hong Kong in a Sin$475 million (Aus$348.7 million) reverse takeover.

  • Development of Sawayaerdun on hold

    OWING to difficult economic conditions and the sustained drop in gold prices, GobiMin is not proceeding with the 2015 development plan for Sawayaerdun Gold Project in the far west of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. The company is focusing on conserving cash and controlling mining costs and expenditures but has entered into a provisional agreement to acquire an office property in Hong Kong.

  • Majestic seeks two new properties

    MAJESTIC China Holdings Corp, a subsidiary of Majestic Gold Corp, has entered into a non-binding Letter of Intent (LoI) with Yantai Baiheng Gold Mining Co Ltd to acquire the Shuang Shan Tun and Xia Yu Cun properties in the Muping-Rushan Gold Belt in Shandong Province. Completion of the acquisition is subject to a 12 month detailed due diligence period.

  • Zhaojin increases gold output

    DESPITE challenging conditions caused by weak global economic growth, disappointing demand, falling gold prices and increasing labour costs, Zhaojin Mining Industry Company Limited continues to perform well. In the six months to April 31, 2015, the group increased production by 10.7% to almost 532,700 ounces primarily from gold operations in Zhaoyuan district on Jiaodong peninsula, Shandong Province.

  • Minco Gold completes Changkeng sale

    MINCO Gold Corporation has completed the sale of its 51% undivided interest in the Changkeng Gold Project in southern China to Minco Silver Corporation. The transaction was approved by shareholders at the company’s Annual General and Special Meeting held on June 25, 2015.

  • Production increases at CSH and Jiama

    DOUBLING of mill processing capacity at China Gold International Resources Corp’s CSH Gold Project in Inner Mongolia is credited for an increase in gold production. During the March quarter of 2015 production increased 51% from 27,118 ounces in the corresponding quarter of 2014 to 41,033 ounces.

  • Griffin boosts Caijiaying capacity

    NEWLY commissioned processing facilities at Griffin Mining’s Caijiaying Zinc-Gold Mine were expected to reach the expanded annual name plate capacity throughput of 1.5 million tonnes of ore during the early part of the September quarter. This capacity was not possible until delivery of a new 750,000 tonne ball mill and the connection of additional grid power.

  • Eastern Dragon construction resumes

    ELDORADO Gold has received the Project Permit Approval (PPA) for its Eastern Dragon Project in Heilongjiang Province, northeast China. The PPA is the most significant permit required as the approval process includes a review and verification of previous permits granted.

  • Minco Silver to purchase Changkeng

    MINCO Silver Corporation and its subsidiary, Minco Investment Holdings HK Ltd, have entered into a share purchase agreement with Minco Gold to acquire a 51% undivided interest in the Changkeng Gold Project in Guangdong province, for an aggregate purchase price of $13,732,260. The sale follows a strategic review of Minco Gold’s mineral properties by its board of directors.

  • Sawayaerdun gold estimates updated

    GOBIMIN has received updated resource estimates for the Sawayaerdun Gold Project in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Total measured and indicated resources are 26.84 million tonnes @ 1.79 grams/tonne gold for 1.545 million ounces, and total inferred resources are 59.38 million tonnes @ 1.38 grams/tonne for 2.626 million ounces.

  • CHINA – Sawayaerdun development on hold

    Owing to the tough macroeconomic climate and the sustained drop in gold prices, GobiMin is not proceeding with the development plan for the Sawayaerdun Gold Project in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. However, the company has received updated resource estimates with total measured and indicated resources of 26.84 million tonnes @ 1.79 grams/tonne gold for 1.545 million ounces, and total inferred resources are 59.38 million tonnes @ 1.38 grams/tonne for 2.626 million ounces.

    A doubling of mill processing capacity at China Gold International Resources Corp’s CSH Gold Project in Inner Mongolia is credited for a 51% increase in gold production in the first quarter of 2015. There was also a 475% increase in copper production at the Jiama Copper Gold Polymetallic Project in Tibet from the corresponding quarter of 2014.

  • CHINA - Eastern Dragon permitting continues

    Eldorado Gold Corporation says that permitting at the Eastern Dragon Gold Project continues to move forward with good support from the various government agencies involved. The company expects the PPA to be approved during the current quarter, after which the applications for the supplemental permits needed for construction will be submitted.
